Kalahandi, Aug 4: Mystery shrouded over the death of a 30-year-old youth after his body was found floating in a canal in Karlamunda block of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
The deceased, identified as Raj Nial (30) of the Karlamunda slum area, was found floating along with his motorcycle in the Rengali Canal this morning.
After seeing the body, locals alerted the police. Upon getting the information, Karlamunda police along with the fire services personnel arrived at the spot and fished out the body.
According to reports, Raj had gone to Agadhupur village on Sunday evening for some work and is suspected to have fallen into the canal along with his bike while returning at night, leading to his death.
Though the exact reason behind Raj’s death is yet to ascertained, his brother-in-law has filed a written report at the Karlamunda police station expressing suspicion about the incident.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
