Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: The second edition of Patha Utsav 2026 transformed Jagamara New Road into a vibrant cultural corridor on Sunday, drawing thousands of residents who took part in a wide range of cultural, fitness, and recreational activities.

Beginning at 6 am, the lively street festival featured captivating Odissi and contemporary dance performances on the main stage, while a separate platform buzzed with energy as young participants danced to DJ music. The entire stretch of the road was beautifully decorated with colourful rangoli designs, enhancing the festive ambience.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das thanked city residents for their enthusiastic participation.

“The first Patha Utsav was successful because of the people, and today’s edition has witnessed the same spirit and energy. I also appreciate the efforts of the BMC team in organising the event,” she said.

Beyond music and dance, the festival offered yoga sessions, skating displays, street plays, traditional performances, and interactive games. Children took part in drawing competitions and enjoyed dedicated play zones, while scenes of youngsters creating rangoli on the streets added a special charm. Skating performances, in particular, drew loud applause from spectators.

Families welcomed the initiative, noting that Patha Utsav promotes healthy lifestyles, encourages community interaction, and provides a platform for local talent. Organisers highlighted that the festival not only celebrates Odisha’s rich cultural heritage but also fosters unity and cooperation among citizens, reinforcing Bhubaneswar’s identity as a smart and culturally vibrant city.

Earlier, the first edition of Patha Utsav was held on January 4 at Janpath. This year’s second edition, organised by the BMC at Baramunda–Jagamara New Road, once again proved successful, as residents braved the chilly morning to enjoy a colourful blend of culture, fitness, and entertainment.
