Tamil Nadu, Dec 30: With the brutal assault of an Odia youth in Tamil Nadu that went viral on social media, the Odisha government deputed a labor Department official to the field in order to take stock of the matter.
State Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia on Tuesday, informed it to the pressers.
According to Khuntia, a senior officer has been assigned to investigate into the matter reaching the ground.
The officer has already left for Tamil Nadu who will soon report us regarding the matter, he added.
Apart from it, the Minister urged the the Tamil Nadu government to initiate stern action against the accused.
Worth mentioning, the viral video featured that at least three minors brutally thrashed an Odia migrant laborer at an old railway colony at Tiruttani in Tamil Nadu.
The incident reportedly took place on December 27 following which the victim was admitted to hospital with critical injuries. As of now, he is struggling with life in a hospital.
According to reports, the youth was travelling from Chennai to Tiruttani in a local train when an argument broke out with a group of minor boys. Following this, the minors dragged the Odia guy off the train and assaulted him mercilessly.
