Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: The ruling Biju Janata Dal kick started outreach programme, ‘Paribar Sampark Yatra’ (family contact drive) from today.

Biju Janata Dal has launched this campaign throughout the state today on Netaji birth anniversary.

In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, party observer for Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency, Shreemayee Mishra and Bhubaneswar North MLA Sushant Rout along with hundreds of party workers went to Ward no-20 of Saliasahi and interacted with the people at the doorstep.

This campaign will continue across the state till the birth anniversary of former chief minister Biju Patnaik on March 5.

BJD leaders and workers will visit every family and interact with people during the programme. The mass contact programme aims to reach the voters ahead of the elections.

During the campaign, party leaders and workers will directly mingle with every family member and try to know their expectations from the government, their feedback on  the welfare measures launched by the state government during the last several years and their problems.

A senior leader said this programme will enable the ruling party to make an assessment of its strength and weakness from the mouth of people living in different parts of the state. The program will also inspire the party workers at the grassroots and further strengthen the organisation ahead of the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections, he added.
