Bhubaneswar, Nov 6: Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Bhubaneswar, is gearing up to expand its air connectivity to four more Indian cities, as revealed by Prasanna Pradhan, the Director of the airport.
Bhubaneswar, Nov 6: The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) of Odisha has officially announced the launch of the second direct flight service connecting Bhubaneswar and Jeypore in Koraput.
These forthcoming flight services from BPIA in Bhubaneswar will offer convenient access to Surat, Dehradun, Chandigarh, and Jammu, further solidifying the city's role as a burgeoning regional transportation hub. Pradhan has confirmed that the groundwork for these services is already in progress.
In an exciting development for travelers and residents, the new terminal link building at BPIA is anticipated to become fully operational by the onset of the New Year in 2024. To ensure a smooth and secure transition, airport authorities have initiated the process of obtaining security clearances for this new facility.
Furthermore, Pradhan has mentioned that discussions will be held with relevant stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Customs department, to establish a robust standard operating procedure (SOP) for the new terminal.
