Bhubaneswar: Double strike by Ashim Dung Dung powered Bhubaneswar to win their inaugural match against Nabarangpur by 3-0 goals in the 64th Senior Men Inter-districts Football Championship for Sahani Cup at Berhampur on Wednesday.
Both the teams made a defensive start, after the goalless first half, Ashim broke the deadlock in the 49th minutes, he also scored another goal in the 81st minutes. In between his teammate Somesh Mohanty nailed a goal in the 74th minute and Bhubaneswar scripted a 3-0 win against Nabarangpur.
Altogether 33 districts teams have been divided into four zones – Keonjhar, Kendrapara, Boudh, and Berhampur to play the league round matches
Results: Boudh Zone: Sambalpur beat Kandhamal 3-0, Boudh beat Nuapada 1-0.
Kendrapara Zone: Jharsuguda beat Jagatsinghpur 2-1, Bhadrak beat Kendrapara 2-0
Keonjhar Zone: RSP beat Jajpur 4-1, Keonjhar beat Angul 1-0.
Berhampur Zone: Bhubaneswar beat Nabarangpur 3-0, Ganjam drew with Gajapati 0-0.
