​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Odisha Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Thursday confirmed that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will visit Odisha to inaugurate the 84th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC).

The state will host this prestigious event for the sixth time, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 10, 2025, at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.

The four-day congress will host approximately 2,000 IRC representatives, along with 3,500 engineers and chief engineers from across various states. The event will also draw VVIPs, senior officials, and leading experts from the road and transport sector.

As customary, Gadkari will inaugurate the IRC session and is expected to address the audience, highlighting the government’s initiatives in road development, safety, and technological innovation.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Odisha to demonstrate its dedication to infrastructure development,” said Harichandan.

The event is set to encourage discussions on innovations and strategies to improve India’s road and transport infrastructure.

Additionally, distinguished academicians and professors from premier institutions such as IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela will present case studies highlighting ongoing initiatives, successful projects, and advancements in road safety.
