
Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The capital city of Odisha is all set to celebrate Vijaya Dashami with grandeur as the traditional ‘Ravan Podi Utsav’ will be organised at seven major locations under the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) this year.
As per the Twin City Commissionerate Police, towering effigies of demon king Ravan will be set ablaze at the following venues on October 2:
The ‘Ravan Podi’, a symbolic re-enactment of Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana as told in the epic Ramayana, is a much-awaited spectacle that draws thousands of devotees and spectators each year. It represents the eternal triumph of good over evil and marks the conclusion of Dussehra festivities.
This year, 193 puja pandals have been erected across the city, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere. To ensure public safety and smooth conduct of events, the Commissionerate Police has implemented a robust security plan.
