Bhubaneswar Film Festival 2025 to showcase films in 10 languages, masterclasses and more

Bhubaneswar, June 4: The second edition of the Bhubaneswar Film Festival (BFF) will be held from June 6 to 9 at Jayadev Bhawan, featuring films in Odia and nine other languages. Organized by the Bhubaneswar Film Circle, the event will include daily screenings from 10 AM and is open to the public.

Bollywood and Odia film personalities will attend the inauguration on June 6 at 7 PM. The festival will screen nine acclaimed Odia films including Matira Manisha, Ka, Bhakta Salabega, Kalira Atita, Krantidhara, and more.

Also featured are classics like Bhavani Bhavai (Gujarati), Ghatashraddha (Kannada), Hamid (Urdu), Shwaas (Marathi), Damul (Hindi), and Meghe Dhaka Tara (Bengali).

Highlights include masterclasses on screenplay writing by Charudatta Acharya (June 7) and acting by Abhimanyu Ray (June 8). The event will also host the Gurudutt Memorial Lecture by Satya Saran and a tribute to filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak by Soma Chatterjee.

Five stalwarts of the Odia film industry, Tansen Singh, Shyamolendu Bhattacharya, Jaya Swami, Nirmal Dash, and Banchhanidhi Pattnayak will be felicitated.

The festival is being coordinated by Sanjay Pattnaik, Ashok Palit, Subhas Sahu, and Sukanta Rath.
