Bhubaneswar, May 5: A 22-year-old domestic helper was arrested for allegedly raping a woman and her minor daughter multiple times.
The accused has been identified as Saroj Kumar Behera, who worked in their house.
Sources said, the incident occurred at Badagada area of Bhubaneswar, Saroj secretly filmed the mother-daughter duo and took private pictures which he then used to blackmail and rape them. Under threat of online circulation of these private materials, he continued to rape both repeatedly.
The matter came to the fore after they lodged a complaint with the police in this connection.
The police arrested the accused, who reportedly confessed to his crime during interrogation. Police said the accused has several cases against his name in other places
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
