Bhubaneswar, June 18: The Odisha government has declared a holiday for all schools within the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) areas on Friday, June 20.
This announcement was made by the School and Mass Education Department, which advised all educational institutions to take note and make necessary preparations accordingly.
The holiday coincides with a state-level event in Bhubaneswar marking the completion of one year of the BJP government in Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the occasion, which is expected to draw a large crowd and may cause traffic disruptions in both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack municipal areas.
Consequently, the government has ordered a holiday on June 20 for all government, government-aided, and private schools in the BMC and CMC jurisdictions under the Department of Schools and Mass Education.
