Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday inaugurated 44 new Sub-Registrar offices across 13 districts of Odisha.

The new facilities have been established within 44 Tehsil offices across the state. The Chief Minister inaugurated these offices through videoconferencing from the Lokseva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The state government has set up 12 new Sub-Registrar offices in Mayurbhanj, seven in Koraput, and five in Dhenkanal, while three offices each have been opened in Boudh and Kandhamal districts.

Earlier, the government had announced that land registration services would be made available at Tehsil offices starting November 1. The initiative is being rolled out in 44 Tehsils during the first phase, with plans to extend it to all 273 Tehsils across Odisha by December this year.

With this move, citizens can now complete property registration at their respective Tehsil offices by booking appointments online, making the process faster and more convenient.

Sharing the development on social media, Chief Minister Majhi said, “As a people’s government, our foremost duty is to serve the citizens and bring government services closer to them. Prioritizing public service, our government is committed to implementing a people-centric vision. To make revenue administration more accessible and simplify land registration and property transactions, we decided to open Sub-Registrar offices in every Tehsil.

Today, in the first phase, 44 such offices have been inaugurated, and by December, the remaining Tehsils will also have this facility. Additionally, the e-Registration mobile app has already been launched, allowing citizens to book slots online and avail services at their Tehsil offices.”
