Puri, Jul 29: The darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at the Gundicha Temple in Puri will remain closed for four hours tomorrow due to the Banakalagi rituals of the deities.
According to an official announcement by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the public will not be allowed to have darshan of the deities from 6:00 PM to 10:00 pm.
The SJTA clarified that the closure is a result of the Banakalagi rituals, which are scheduled to take place on June 30, 2025, corresponding to Shravana Sukla Sasthi . The rituals will be performed after the second Bhoga Mandap Puja offering.
As part of the ongoing festivities, the deities were escorted to the Adapa Mandap of the Gundicha Temple from their respective chariots the previous night, marking an important step in the traditional celebrations.
Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly, as access to the deities will resume after the completion of the rituals.
