Berhampur, Oct 7: Hanging body of a BSc-MSc Integrated student was found from his hostel room of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Odisha’s Berhampur on Saturday..
The deceased has been identified as Satya Makar Murmu, son of Bajun Murmu from Dumadihi village in Balasore district. Murmu was a first year BSc- MSc Integrated student of the institute and a boarder of the institute hostel, said sources.
On the day of the incident, Murmu had not gone to the college and was alone in his hostel room. Later, some of his friends spotted him hanging from the ceiling fan and informed the authorities immediately.
Being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and started a probe over the incident. The body was sent for autopsy. However, the exact reason for his death is yet to be ascertained.
