Balangir, August 18: A disturbing incident involving a minor girl from Balanga has sparked serious concern after a video capturing her statement went viral on social media. The survivor, who was under treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar and later shifted to AIIMS New Delhi, had her sensitive testimony leaked online-prompting swift action from authorities.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, SP Pinak Mishra confirmed that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. "An investigation is currently underway to identify who is responsible for circulating the video and with what intent," he stated. The probe is being conducted jointly by the Crime Branch and Cyber Cell teams.
SP Mishra condemned the circulation of such sensitive content, terming it "highly inappropriate." He clarified that the minor’s statement was officially recorded before a magistrate, in accordance with legal procedures.
"The investigation has reached its final stage, and the conclusive report will soon be submitted to the court," Mishra added.
The SP also issued a strong appeal to the public, urging them not to share or view the viral video in order to protect the survivor's dignity and privacy.
