Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: With the death of the Balanga girl in Delhi AIIMS on Saturday, who was allegedly set ablaze on July 19, the Odisha Police said that nobody else is involved in the case, as the findings of police so far reveal.
The Odisha Police on its official X handle said, “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of the victim girl in the Balanga incident. The police have conducted the investigation with utmost sincerity. The investigation has reached its final stage. According to the investigation conducted so far, it has been clarified that no other person is involved in this incident. Therefore, we request everyone not to make any sensitive comments regarding this in this tragic moment.
Worth mentioning, the minor girl was reportedly charred by miscreants dousing kerosene oil on her on July 19 near Bayabar at the Balanga village in the Puri district. As a result, the victim had suffered over 75% burn injuries and was rushed to the DHH Puri and then AIIMS Bhubaneswar for resuscitation. As her health condition went more critical after two days she was airlifted to Delhi AIIMS for better care.Here, in the burn and plastic surgery unit she was kept on ventilator support for several days and skin grafting surgery was conducted on her body.
Unfortunately, the 16-year girl breathed her last in the afternoon despite taking protein and other medicines orally in the morning as a sign of speedy progress in her health.
