Gopeshwar (Uttarakhand), Oct 12: The portals of Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand will close for the winter season at 9:07 PM on November 17, as announced by the temple committee on Saturday.
Traditionally, the closing date and time, referred to as the "mahurat," were determined on Vijayadashami after evaluating the Hindu calendar and the positions of celestial bodies, according to Ajendra Ajay, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee.
This year, over 1.1 million pilgrims visited Badrinath, while Kedarnath welcomed more than 1.35 million devotees.
In previous announcements, it was noted that Kedarnath and Yamunotri will close on November 3, while Gangotri will close on November 2. Additionally, Rudranath will close on October 17, Tungnath on November 4, and Madhyamaheshwar on November 20.
These temples in Uttarakhand, which attract countless devotees from across India and abroad each year, are closed during winter due to heavy snowfall.
