Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: The police have arrested seven individuals, including four women, in connection with an attack on police personnel near Kantabada on the Chandaka-Khordha road. The accused were later produced in court by the commissionerate police.

According to reports, the suspects were disguised as police officers when they carried out the incident. Upon receiving information, Chandaka police rushed to the scene, prompting the accused to flee. Some suspects reportedly hid inside a local residence, where they attacked three police officers who tried to enter the house. The assailants also damaged a police van and snatched mobile phones from officers on the spot.

Two police platoons and the Chandaka police station officer-in-charge arrived at the scene to rescue the trapped personnel. The suspects allegedly pelted bricks at the police before fleeing. The police also seized one car and five motorcycles linked to the incident.

Investigations are ongoing, and raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend the remaining suspects.
