New Delhi, June 24:Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to chair the 10th apex-level meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) on Friday, focusing on strengthening India's fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The meeting will address emerging challenges such as the growing menace of synthetic drugs, the use of the darknet for narcotics trafficking, and measures to expand the network of rehabilitation centres for drug users over the next three years.
Senior officials from 44 central ministries and departments, along with 108 representatives from state governments and drug law enforcement agencies, will participate in the hybrid-format meeting. Discussions will centre on enhancing coordination among stakeholders and advancing the government's mission of creating a drug-free India.
During the event, Shah will also unveil theVision Document on Narcotics Control (2026–2029). The roadmap has been developed through extensive consultations with central government agencies, enforcement bodies, and other key stakeholders, and is expected to guide the country's anti-narcotics strategy over the coming years.
