Allegations of dual payroll hit Cuttack Government Employee

Cuttack, Ap 29: Cuttack authorities are investigating a serious allegation against a government employee accused of receiving payments for work in another organization over a period of six years. The complaint has been filed with the District Collector of Cuttack and the Cuttack Vigilance Department.

The employee, Babu Amarendra Samal of Kerilo Panchayat, Nishchintakoili block, has served as a Data Entry Operator in the Education Department for 14 years. Reports suggest that between 2013 and 2018, he allegedly received remuneration for work under the Mahatma Gandhi Guaranteed Employment Scheme.

When questioned, Samal denied any wrongdoing, stating that no job card had been issued in his name and that he had not received payments for the scheme. However, official documents appear to include his details, prompting concerns over their authenticity.

Local authorities have also consulted the outsourcing agency involved, which assured that immediate action would be taken if the allegations are confirmed. Nishchintakoili officials have announced that a formal investigation will be conducted, and if the claims are substantiated, strict action will be taken against the employee.
