Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: Odisha’s tableau has been selected to take part in the Republic Day Parade 2026 in New Delhi, following approval from the Centre on a proposal submitted by the state government.

The Union Ministry of Defence has cleared tableaux from 17 states and Union Territories, including Odisha, for participation in the parade to be held at Kartavya Path on January 26.

Officials said the Odisha tableau is inspired by the state’s rich artistic legacy. Its design showcases cultural heritage and creative brilliance, presenting a vivid expression of Odisha’s identity on the national stage.

The Ministry of Defence has instructed the Chief Secretary to ensure that all preparations are completed by January 19, allowing the tableau to be fully ready for the Republic Day celebrations.

The selection of Odisha’s PragyaPāna tableau highlights the state’s increasing presence in national cultural events and underscores its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional art forms while contributing to India’s diverse cultural tapestry.
