Bhubaneswar, July 14: All the sub-division in Odisha will soon have Kendriya Vidyalayas to provide quality education to children, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday.
“The Narendra Modi Government is committed to providing school education to every section of society. In Odisha, Kendriya Vidyalays have been established in more than 45 sub-divisions. Efforts are on by the Central Government to open the Kendriya Vidyalays in the remaining 10-12 sub-divisions in the State very soon,” said Pradhan.
“The KVs will be opened with the aim of providing high-quality education in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy thereby improving the quality of education at the school level. Students' mental, physical, critical thinking, and intellectual abilities will be enhanced,” said Pradhan
Pradhan was speaking at inaugural event of the permanent campus of the Kendriya Vidyalaya at ITBP campus at Khurda.
“Kendriya Vidyalayas always believe in imparting quality education, nurturing the talent, enthusiasm and creativity of its students for seeking excellence through high-quality educational endeavours. So, the opening of new KVs will benefit a large number of students,” said the Union Minister.
The Union Minister also interacted with students on the importance of getting education in one’s mother tongue.
“English language is not a barrier now. It is very important to identity a child’s inherent talent and nurture and promote it,” said Pradhan.
Last year, the central Government had approved the opening of eight new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) at ITBP Khurda, Titlagarh and Patnagarh in Balangir district, Athmallik and Talcher in Angul district, Kuchinda in Sambalpur district, Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district and Jeypore in Koraput district.
