Bhubaneswar, Jun 3: Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Wednesday assured that all students across the state will receive their textbooks before the summer vacation, despite delays in printing and distribution.
The minister said that nearly 90 per cent of the textbooks have already been printed and distributed to schools and students. He added that the remaining 10 per cent of the books will be delivered before the commencement of the summer break.
Responding to concerns over delays in the supply of textbooks, Gond acknowledged that technical issues at certain printing units had slowed the printing process, which in turn affected distribution schedules.
However, he emphasized that the government is actively addressing the challenges and taking all necessary measures to ensure the timely delivery of the remaining textbooks. He assured that students' academic activities would not be adversely affected.
The minister’s statement comes amid reports that students in some parts of the state are yet to receive a complete set of textbooks for the current academic year.
Authorities have expressed confidence that the distribution process will be completed before schools close for the summer vacation.
