Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: In a ghastly crime, a youth in Odisha’s Nayagarh killed his girlfriend and ended himself consuming poision.

The incident took place at Magarabandh village under the Sarankul police on Monday where the accused thrashed the girl to death with an iron rod.

Subsequently, he consumed poision on the spot at the Binayakpur Shiva Temple who died in AIIMS Bhubaneswar during treatment.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as Purna Nayak was in one-side love with a minor girl of his village. However, it was somehow rejected by the girl and her family members. Based on the girl’s ordeal, her parents had earlier raised frequent complains with the boy’s parents.

Aggrieved over it, Purna followed the girl today who had been for tution and attacked her in full public views. As she succumbed to injuries, he consumed poision on the spot.

He was rushed to the AIIMS by the locals for resuscitation where he died during treatment.
