Bhubaneswar, July 12: AIIMS Bhubaneswar today announced the celebration of its 5th Convocation Ceremony on 14th July 2025 (Monday), a momentous occasion marking academic excellence, dedication, and service to the nation.
President of India, Droupadi Murmu will grace the convocation as the chief guest, said AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, at a press briefing today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Biswas expressed his joy and pride in hosting this grand ceremony. He emphasized the significance of this milestone in the lives of young healthcare professionals who are ready to contribute to the nation’s health system with compassion, skill, and dedication.
Joining the President in this prestigious event will be an illustrious line-up of dignitaries including Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Mukesh Mahaling, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha, Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), informed Dr. Biswas.
This year, a total of 643 healthcare professionals will be conferred degrees including 196 MBBS (Batch 2016 & 2017), 158 MD/MS (Batch 2019 & 2020), 49 DM/MCh (Batch 2019 & 2020), 21 Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDF) (Batch 2022 & 2023), 116 BSc Nursing (Batch 2017 & 2018), 62 BSc Paramedical (Batch 2018 & 2019), 41 MSc Nursing (Batch 2019 & 2020). In recognition of exceptional academic performance, 59 Gold Medals will be awarded to 31 meritorious students, including 17 MBBS students, 1 MD/MS student, 1 DM/MCh student, 3 BSc Nursing students, 7 BSc Paramedical students, 2 MSc Nursing students.
The press meet also witnessed the presence of key officials including Dr. P R Mohapatra (DEAN), Lt. Col. Abhijit Sarkar (DDA), Dr. Sudiptra Ranjan Singh (Registrar), Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida (Medical Superintendent), and Dr. Vikash Bhatia.
