Harare, July 4: Ahead of the five-match T20I series against India at home, Zimbabwe cricket board on Thursday announced appointment of former South Africa quick Charl Langeveldt as the national team's bowling coach.
The board also announced that former Zimbabwe batsman Stuart Matsikenyeri, who had been the side's interim head coach prior to the full-time appointment of Justin Sammons, will be part of the coaching staff as fielding coach.
Langeveldt and Matsikenyeri will join Sammons and newly appointed assistant coach Dion Ebrahim ahead of the five-match T20I series against India, which begins here on Saturday.
Besides, South Africans Ravish Gobind and Curtly Diesel will also join the backroom as strategic performance coach and strength and conditioning coach respectively.
Langeveldt, who was part of the South African side for long as a player, was associated with Bangladesh and South Africa as a coaching staff. He was also with Afghanistan national side as a coaching staff till end of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
The Indian team led by Shubman Gill has already reached Zimbabwe for the fivematch T20 internationals.
