Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar have arrested Satya Prakash Hati, also known as Joker Happy, in connection with the gang rape of a minor on the banks of the Daya River near Dhauli. Hati, who had been absconding since the incident, was finally apprehended after an extensive investigation.

The crime took place when the victim, a minor girl, was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by Hati and his associates. After the incident, the girl managed to escape and inform her family, who immediately alerted the authorities. The police launched a manhunt to track down the accused.

While the arrest of Satya Prakash Hati marks a significant breakthrough, two of his associates remain at large. Police have intensified their efforts to locate them. Earlier, two other individuals involved in the crime were also arrested. The investigation is underway as the police work to ensure all those responsible are brought to justice. Yesterday, the Odisha Police categorized the Dhauli gangrape case in Bhubaneswar as a "Red Flag" case, assigning the Crime Branch to lead the investigation.

The case has caused widespread outrage in the community, with calls for swift legal action. The police have assured the public that they are committed to apprehending the remaining suspects and ensuring justice for the victim.

The victim, who is receiving medical treatment and psychological support, has been praised for her bravery in reporting the incident.
