New Delhi, September 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued new guidelines for students enrolled in Classes IX–X and XI–XII, highlighting key attendance and assessment requirements for those preparing for their board exams.
As per the updated directive, students in both Class IX–X and Class XI–XII must complete a two-year study period for each respective class, covering all subjects. A key stipulation is that students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance throughout the academic year to be eligible to sit for their board exams.
The circular further emphasizes the role of internal assessments, which will be carried out in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. CBSE clarified that failure to complete internal assessments will result in students being placed under the 'Essential Repeat' category, and their results cannot be declared.
