New Delhi, Sept 28: In a tragic incident, a man and his four daughters were found dead at their rented apartment in South West Delhi’s Rangpuri on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Heeralal Sharma, 46, and his four daughters – Neetu, 26, Nikki, 24, Neeru, 23, and Nidhi, 20, who are suspected to have died by suicide.
Police rushed to the spot after the landlord, Nitin Chauhan, reported that the tenants in Flat C-4 had not opened the door for several days.
The building caretaker, Mohan Singh, informed Chauhan that a foul smell emanating from the flat during routine cleaning following which he tried to contact the family members, but in-vain.
Chauhan made a PCR call to the authorities at 10:18 am on Friday. The door was found bolted from the inside and local fire brigade forced open it.
Upon entering the two-room apartment, the police found Heeralal Sharma dead in one room, while the bodies of his four daughters were discovered in the other.
No signs of external injuries were found during the preliminary investigation. It is suspected to be a case of suicide.
