Delhi, July 12: A four-storey building collapsed in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi on Saturday morning.
A few people living inside the building are feared to be trapped under the rubbles.
Three people were pulled out alive from the debris following the mishap by the rescue teams.
"We received a call regarding a building collapse at 7 am. Multiple teams are working, including seven fire tenders. Further information is awaited," said a fire service officer dealing with the situation.
According to reports, the building collapsed when locals were out on their morning walks.Local responders began trying to rescue those trapped before fire officials arrived at the spot. With the help of the fire department later, three people were rescued.
In a statement, Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg said the building at street no.5 Janta Colony close to Idgah road in Seelampur collapsed all of a sudden.
On being alarmed,at least seven fire tenders were deployed to the site for rescue operation. Further search operation continues to ascertain that nobosy is under the debris,he added.
