Cuttack, Sept 6: In a tragic incident, as many as three laborers deid of asphyxia on Friday while working inside a newly built septic tank.
The incident took place at the Naranpur Village under the Barang police limit in Cuttack.
Two deceased persons have been identified as Abu Tahir, Dinesh Kumar whereas another is yet to be identified. However, all the victims were from the Nadia district in West Bengal, said sources.
As per reports, a group of laborers were removing wastes from a septic tank getting into the pit. Meanwhile, as many as three of them, raised their alarms after a few minutes in the tank. Anticipating something wrong with the workers, the locals informed fire services personnel and police. Acting on it, the fire tenderers rescued the three laborers from the pit in an unconscious state and rushed them to hospital. Later, all of them were declared dead by the attending doctors.
