Delhi, May 10: At least 22 railway stations of Western Odisha are going to be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat scheme.
The Indian Railways has launched a transformative redevelopment project for the stations across six districts in the Western Odisha and allocated a budget of Rs 332 crore for it.
The proposed stations, to be redeveloped are located in the Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, and Kalahandi districts.
Key stations in the western Odisha like Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda Road, and Khariar Road will undergo extensive upgrades.
Rs 23.76 crore has been allocated for Sambalpur, Rs 18.77 crore for Jharsuguda, and Rs 35.79 crore for Titilagarh. Apart from it, the Hirakud, Kesinga, and Kantabanji stations have received substantial funds.
The redevelopment focuses on comprehensive infrastructure development, including redesigned station buildings, expanded platforms, and upgraded ticketing systems.
Stations like Bolangir and Muniguda will adopt green building techniques, while others, including Kantabanji, will implement advanced waste management solutions.
