2 killed as tourist bus collides with Cement-Laden truck in Jajpur

Jajpur, June 8: A horrifying tragedy struck in Jajpur district as a tourist bus from Kolkata collided with a cement-laden truck, resulting in the death of at least two lives. The devastating incident occurred in the wee hours at Kandhei chhak under Barchana police limits, sending shockwaves through the community.
The victims of the fatal crash are reported to be the driver and helper of the tourist bus, which was en route to Puri from Kolkata.
Besides, 13 passengers sustained injuries in the harrowing road mishap. Of these, seven persons are in critical condition and have been immediately shifted to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention.
In the aftermath of the collision, the bus erupted into flames, adding to the chaos and urgency of the situation. Prompt action by the fire services department personnel proved crucial as they immediately intervened to douse the blaze and retrieve the bodies of the deceased from the charred wreckage.
Further investigation is underway.
