Bhubaneswar, November 7: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that a Comprehensive Infrastructure Master Plan is being formulated to realise the vision of a ‘Samrudha Odisha.’

Speaking at the 84th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress in Bhubaneswar on Friday, Majhi said the State Government is steadfast in its commitment to develop world-class infrastructure under Vision Odisha 2036 and Vision Odisha 2047.

He emphasized that robust infrastructure will serve as the foundation for a strong, resilient, and prosperous Odisha, aligning with the government’s long-term developmental goals.

“Through the Odisha State Road Policy 2025 and the Odisha State Highways Authority Act 2025, we are taking decisive steps to expand and modernise our road network. With close coordination between the Centre and the State, I am confident that Odisha’s road infrastructure will continue to improve in both quality and reach, driving balanced development and contributing significantly to India’s growth story,” said Majhi.

In the 2025-26 financial year, the Central Government has approved National Highway projects worth Rs 13,069 crore for Odisha. Works of 19 road projects worth Rs 4,000 crore has already been initiated by the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister.

“The State Government will construct 75,000 kilometers of roads within the next five years. The Union Minister is giving special emphasis on upgrading Odisha’s roads to world-class standards. This continued support from the Central Government will further accelerate Odisha’s development in the coming days,” said Majhi.

Majhi also expressed gratitude to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving additional Rs 1,000 crore from the Central Road Fund for the State to boost road infrastructure.
