Puri, May 29: At least 10 people were seriously injured after a Bolero vehicle crashed into a roadside tree on the Nirakarpur–Puri New Jagannath Road while travelling to Puri for Lord Jagannath darshan.

According to reports, the accident occurred late at night when members of a family from the Sorada area of Brahmapur district were on their way to Puri. The Bolero carrying the family suddenly lost control and rammed into a tree along the roadside.

All 10 passengers sustained serious injuries in the mishap and were rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. One critically injured person was later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced medical care.

The exact reason behind the accident is still unclear, and police have started an investigation into the incident.
