1 killed, 4 injured in truck-car collision on Kuakhai Bridge

In a tragic incident late Tuesday night, one person lost life and four others sustained critical injuries when a truck collided with a car and subsequently fell off the Kuakhai Bridge near Trishulia in Cuttack district.

Cuttack, June 19: In a tragic incident late Tuesday night, one person lost life and four others sustained critical injuries when a truck collided with a car and subsequently fell off the Kuakhai Bridge near Trishulia in Cuttack district.

The injured, including both the car and truck drivers, were immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

According to hospital authorities, all four are in critical condition.

Sources revealed that the accident occurred as a group of serial artistes were returning to Bhubaneswar after a shooting session. The truck, traveling from the opposite direction, struck their car and lost balance, resulting in the truck plunging off the bridge.

Being informed, Barang fire brigade and local police immediately arrived at the scene. They recovered the body of the deceased and sent it for post-mortem examination.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
