New Delhi, July 21: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned from his post to prioritise health care and abide by medical advice.

In his resignation letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, Dhankhar said that the decision was made in order to focus on his health and follow medical advice.

He said his departure was necessary to "prioritise health care" amid ongoing health concerns.

“To prioritise health care and abide by medical advice, I hereby resign as the Vice President of India, effective immediately, in accordance with Article 67(a) of the Constitution,” Dhankhar wrote in the letter.
