Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: In a tragic incident, a minor sustained severe injuries after a car ran over her on the footpath in the Unit-II area behind the Legislative Assembly in Bhubaneswar on Monday night.
According to the report, the incident occurred while the child was sleeping on the footpath along with others. The driver of the vehicle lost control and went over the footpath, injuring the child. The car came to a halt after being rammed against a wall.
The minor has been admitted to the Capital Hospital and her condition is stated to be critical.
Soon after the incident, the driver and two others of the car ran away from the spot.
Being informed by locals, police arrived at the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
