Shrinagar, February 22: A third terrorist has been neutralised in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir under the ongoing Operation Trashi-I, the Indian Army's Jammu-based White Knight Corps reported on Sunday. The encounter occurred in the challenging terrains of the region as security forces clashed with militants.

Earlier in the day, two terrorists were eliminated, marking a significant development in the ongoing anti-terrorism offensive. The Army confirmed the recovery of the remains and weapon of the third terrorist involved.

In an update on X (formerly Twitter), the White Knight Corps stated, "As part of continued operations under #OpTrashi-I in Kishtwar, troops of CIF (D) #WhiteKnightCorps, in coordination with @JmuKmrPolice and #CRPF, have neutralised the third terrorist. The remains and weapons of the terrorist have been recovered. The pursuit continues—no space, no sanctuary for those who seek to undermine stability."

The operation was based on actionable intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Intelligence Bureau (IB), and the Army's own sources, which indicated the presence of terrorists operating in the dense forests of Chatroo areas. "Following credible inputs from #JKP, #IB, and our own intelligence, a joint operation was launched in the Kishtwar region under Operation Trashi-I to track and neutralise the terrorists," the White Knight Corps added.

The security forces re-engaged the militants around 11:00 am in tough terrain, where Counter-Insurgency Force (CIF) Delta troops, working closely with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), fought the militants. During the firefight, the forces gained the upper hand, neutralising two terrorists. Weapons, including two AK-47 rifles and other military-grade equipment, were recovered from the site.

"The hunt continues. Those who aim to disrupt peace will find no sanctuary," the Corps concluded.Bottom of Form
