Boudh, Feb 21: While firecrackers claimed 2 lives in Cuttack recently, such a massive explosion was reported from Boudh on Saturday.

Following a massive fire triggered from piles of firecrackers, the Boudh Police arrested a firecracker trader from the Purunakatak area.

According to report, a massive fire engulfed the residence of one Alok Kanti, an infamous firecracker peddler as a pile of firecrackers blew off suddenly.

On being informed, the Purunakatak police & fire services team rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Subsequently, the peddler was detained in this connection.

Worth mentioning, a woman and her 3-year daughter were killed in the Cuttack City  a couple of days ago following a massive explosion in a firecracker godown.
