Angul, Jan 7: The body of a woman who had been missing for two days was found on Wednesday morning in Susabhanali village, located under the Jharabada panchayat in the Pallahara police station area of Angul district. The deceased has been identified as Jana Munda, a resident of the village.

According to reports, Munda had gone to work on Monday but did not return home. Despite extensive efforts by her family to locate her, her whereabouts remained unknown until her blood-stained body was found early Wednesday.

Initial findings suggest the woman was brutally attacked, allegedly stoned to death, and her throat was slit. The Pallahara police were notified and immediately arrived at the scene, where they seized the body for a post-mortem examination.

The victim sustained multiple severe injuries, including deep cuts to her neck and serious facial wounds, indicating that the death was not accidental and was likely the result of foul play.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the murder and to identify those responsible. The case has raised concerns about safety in the region, and authorities are working to uncover the details surrounding this tragic incident.
