Dhenkanal, Nov 10: A spate of thefts has been reported from various locations in Hindol block, including the Madhapur Gram Panchayat office, leaving residents in shock. Valuable items and cash worth several lakhs of rupees have allegedly been looted during the late-night incidents.

According to sources, burglars targeted the Madhapur Panchayat Office, an AM Bank branch, an Aspire Centre, and a local school. On Monday morning, Aspire teacher Supriya Sahu discovered the Panchayat Office in disarray, with all locks broken and furniture scattered. She immediately informed the Sarpanch about the incident.

Upon arrival, Sarpanch’s husband Dillip Lenka confirmed that the office had been completely ransacked. The matter was promptly reported to the Hindol Police.

Preliminary reports indicate that a television set and an inverter were stolen from the Panchayat Office, while ₹1.16 lakh in cash was looted from the AM Bank branch. Police have launched an investigation into the series of break-ins, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
