Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The Odisha government has launched the National Road Safety Month campaign from January 1 to 31. The campaign aims to raise awareness about road safety across the state. During this month-long initiative, various activities and events are being conducted to educate the public on road safety measures.
As part of the campaign, the Department of Transport, NCC cadets, students from different schools and colleges, drivers, and artists have participated in awareness programs. The artists are performing skits in the roles of Chandragupta and Yamaraj to engage the public and spread important messages about road safety.
Prominent figures like Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Krishna Mahapatra, MLA Babu Singh, Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary Usha Padhi, Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur, and DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania were present at the event.
The campaign also features a catchy tagline encouraging the public to follow road rules. The slogan urges everyone to follow traffic rules and stay alert while driving, advising them to always keep an eye on their surroundings. The message emphasizes that safety is key, and every moment on the road should be treated with care to ensure a safe return home.
