Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: Proceedings of the Odisha Legislative Assembly were adjourned till March 9, 2026 following stormy atmosphere on the floor, witnessed on Tuesday.

Odisha Speaker Surama Padhy announced to adjourn the Budget Session till 10.30 AM on March 9, following consistent non-cooperation of the Oppositions, BJD and Congress.

Proceedings of the Odisha Legislative Assembly were temporarily adjourned today amid continued disruptions by the Opposition members during the discussion on the State Budget tabled recently.

During the debate, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi criticised the Opposition saying that, the Session is being disrupted for political reasons.

The opposition members really have no concern for farmers & general public, the CM said.

Majhi during his speech slammed the BJD and said, they are deliberately stalling the Assembly proceedings instead of playing a constructive role on the floor.

It’s not a healthy practice of the oppositions, to disrupt discussions, centring public interest & state’s welfare, the CM added.
