Union Minister champions cleanliness and development during high-profile Odisha visit

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has intensified the development momentum in Odisha with a series of high-impact visits across the state. On Sunday, the focus shifted to Angul, where he actively participated in the 'Swachh, Sundar, Sabuja Angul' cleanliness campaign. Beyond the hygiene drive, the Minister also laid the foundation stones and inaugurated several development projects for the Angul Municipality, totaling an investment of over Rs 27 crore.

Vision for a Developed Odisha by 2036

The Minister’s visit to Angul follows a significant stop at NIT Rourkela on Saturday. During his time there, he inaugurated a new sports complex and reviewed ongoing infrastructure work. He took the opportunity to celebrate the institute's success, noting that NIT Rourkela secured the 13th spot in the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Pradhan emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is entering a technological golden age. He shared his confidence that the "Viksit Bharat" vision would directly fuel the goal of a developed Odisha by 2036, with premier institutions like NIT Rourkela leading the charge.

Major Investments in Rairakhol

Earlier in the week, the Minister visited Rairakhol to honor the legacy of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 101st birth anniversary. Marking the occasion as 'Shushasan Diwas' (Good Governance Day), he unveiled projects worth approximately Rs 250 crore. These initiatives are designed to improve local connectivity and public services, reflecting the government's commitment to grassroots progress.

State Security Upgrades

Parallel to these events, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi focused on state security by inaugurating a state-of-the-art Training and Briefing Centre for the Special Operations Group (SOG) at Chandaka. This new facility, along with a modern Counter Terrorism Training Centre, is equipped to train 400 jawans simultaneously, significantly strengthening the state's tactical capabilities.
