Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, has been conferred with the Exceed CSR Award 2025 for Best Integrated Community Driven CSR Project, recognising its outstanding efforts in holistic community development.

The award was presented at a grand ceremony in Bhubaneswar on October 30 by Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, former Secretary, Government of India and Former Director General & CEO of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs.

This recognition highlights Jindal Foundation’s far-reaching social impact, which has brought holistic changes to millions across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. Under the visionary leadership of Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament and Chairman of Jindal Steel, the Foundation’s watershed development programmes have strengthened community livelihoods by enhancing groundwater levels, boosting agricultural productivity, and ensuring year-round water availability.

Expressing gratitude to the Exceed CSR Award 2025 jury, Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, said, “At Jindal Foundation, we believe that true progress lies in holistic development—where education, health, livelihood, environment, and culture come together to uplift lives in a balanced and sustainable manner. Our approach focuses on empowering communities from within, nurturing their potential, and ensuring that growth is inclusive and equitable. By aligning our initiatives with the principles of sustainability and human dignity, we aim to build resilient communities that can thrive socially, economically, and environmentally. Holistic development, to us, is not just about creating opportunities—it’s about transforming lives and ensuring that every individual has the foundation to lead a life of purpose, health, and dignity.”

Through its comprehensive and integrated approach to social transformation, the Jindal Foundation continues to champion holistic development across its operational areas. Its initiatives span multiple dimensions — from education, health, and livelihood promotion to environmental sustainability, women’s empowerment, and cultural preservation.

Guided by the vision and leadership of Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, the organisation’s programmes embody the belief that development must be inclusive, equitable, and enduring. By integrating human development goals with environmental stewardship and social empowerment, the Foundation continues to create measurable and meaningful change — shaping a future where communities grow not just economically, but in dignity, capacity, and shared prosperity.

Jindal Steel’s President and Group Head (CSR & Education) Prashant Hota also participated in the technical session of the conference. In the session, he highlighted various strategies and means to achieve sustainable development goals through CSR. Jindal Foundation has aligned to 17 out of 17 UNSDG through its various sustainable development programmes across the country.
