LeT operative vows attacks on major Indian cities from Lahore

In a brazen display of impunity that highlights the deep-rooted support for terrorism within Pakistan, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative has issued direct threats against India from a public stage. Unlike past instances where terrorists issued warnings from hideouts, this Lashkar commander threat was delivered openly in Lahore, the cultural heart of Pakistan, attended by mainstream politicians.

Syed Abdul Rehman Naqvi, a top figure in the terror outfit, used the platform of "Kashmir Solidarity Day" to spew venom against India. This day is often used by the Pakistani establishment to push anti-India propaganda, but Naqvi’s speech escalated matters by explicitly calling for violence and the disintegration of India.

Threats to Major Cities

Addressing the gathering, Naqvi did not mince words. He vowed to shatter the concept of a united India ("Akhand Bharat"). His rhetoric specifically targeted key Indian locations, stating that his group would "set Agra on fire, ignite the Deccan, and shake Delhi."

Naqvi is not just a militant; he heads the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), which intelligence agencies recognize as the political front of the banned LeT. His association with designated global terrorist Hafiz Saeed and his son, Hafiz Talha Saeed, further underscores the severity of these threats. He emphasized that the "sacrifices" of previous terrorists involved in attacks like 26/11 would not go to waste.

Regrouping after Operation Sindoor

This public resurgence comes at a critical time. The terror group is currently attempting to rebuild its infrastructure following severe setbacks. Indian security forces had previously launched "Operation Sindoor," a precision strike that devastated the LeT headquarters in Muridke. This operation was one of several retaliatory measures taken by India following the Pahalgam terror attack which claimed 26 lives.

Despite the destruction of their camps, reports indicate that the outfit is reconstructing its base in Muridke with covert financial assistance from elements within the Pakistani government. Naqvi’s open declaration of war serves as a grim reminder that despite international pressure, terrorists continue to find political space and patronage across the border.
