Puri, Jan 21: KNOW YOUR CITY-PURI (my city, my future) a joint programme by Odisha Eco Tourism Foundation and Puri District Administration started today. Under the programme students of various schools will tour on bicycles and will get on site experience of past, present and future of the holy city from experts . The first batch of 50 students from Biswambhar Bidyapitha started at 8:30 am from Tourist office today for the half day tour covering various topics such as secular and spiritual Puri, clean Puri, future projects like blue flag beach , heritage corridor and tourism and pilgrimage services. The Collector interacted with the participating students at Panthanivas and the students also visited the tourist office and Puri Municipality "The purpose behind introducing Know Your City programme is to orient and aware our next generation leaders about their city, its culture and heritage monuments besides various infrastructure development, cleanliness move and beautification activities undergoing in the Pilgrim City. This initiative will help in instilling a sense of ownership responsibility among the millennial," said Puri Collector Balwant Singh.
