Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: Singer Arpita Choudhury and music director Somesh Satapathy were questioned by the Markatnagar Police in connection with the untimely death of singer Humane Sagar. The police have also obtained all medical records and bank statements related to the case. Both Choudhury and Satapathy, who had approached the High Court for anticipatory bail, have been granted interim protection.

Humane Sagar passed away on the night of 17th November while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. On 21st December, his mother, Shefali Suna, filed a written complaint at Markatnagar Police Station, prompting the investigation.

According to Zonal ACP Ananya Agastya, the probe is being conducted on two fronts: one to determine the cause of Humane Sagar’s death and identify those responsible, and the other to examine his financial transactions. Authorities have sought information from multiple agencies and collected all relevant medical and financial documents, including statements from banks and financial institutions. Individuals named in the case will also be summoned for questioning.
