​​​​​​​Rayagada, Oct 2: While incessant showers brought flash flood like situations in southern Odisha, railway services on the Koraput-Rayagada route were affected on Thursday after massive landslide took place on the railway tracks.

According to souces, the Dumuriput and Damanjodi route on the down line near rail post 13/22, was covered with debris of rocks and muds that obstructed the railway line for ease coach movement.

Apart from it, high-voltage electric wires between Tyda and Chimidipalli on the Visakhapatnam-Koraput rail section, were severely impacted as huge trees fell on them in different locations.

Railway authorities are on high alert, and debris clearance operations were on to restore rail services as soon as possible.
